Janine Long, RNC-NIC, graduated with an Associate degree in nursing from Ocean County College in 2001. She has worked at the Level lll Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center since 2002. She has dedicated her entire career to taking care of the most fragile of babies and their families. She guides each family through their respective Nicu journeys with empathy, excellent communication, tireless dedication,  and when appropriate, a little humor to make a parent smile. Janine makes a tireless effort to know the babies and families well and often develops authentic, deep and long-lasting relationships with those who are blessed to have received her care. In addition to her job in the NICU, Janine also does in- home nursing care. She provides one on one education to these families on basic newborn care, sleep schedules and rest for parents.

While caring for these critically ill preemies and newborns in the NICU, Janine was introduced to Michael's Feat, where she then became a liaison. With the collaboration of Michael's Feat, she is able to provide the best experiences during a family's scariest of times. Throughout the year she is involved in fundraising events and holidays where she makes momentous, like hand and footprint keepsakes, personalized Mother and Father's day gifts, pictures with Santa, and dressing up the babies for Halloween, just to state a few.

Janine is honored for being recognized for her relentless passion and dedication to improving outcomes for NICU babies and their families.
