Joe Leone, our speaker, told us of his humble beginnings that were overcome with his eventual great success as a food entrepreneur.

Along the way, he discovered Covenant House in Newark, a place for homeless teens.  He related several anecdotes about the experiences of those children whose lives were profoundly changed by their time at Covenant House, some who overcame adversity to become very successful and  productive.  All of whom, he explained, were uplifted by their experience there.  He told us that Asbury Park also is home to a Covenant House, that he is very supportive of in his charitable work.   He also related how he recently lead a convoy of four semis holding 400,000 cases of water to the victims of the Texas hurricane, postponing his visit with us for several weeks.
