Each year the Rotary Club of Asbury Park dedicates funds raised to award scholarships, the purpose of which is to encourage and assist local high school seniors pursuing a post-secondary education. The emphasis is on service to the community and leadership. Each selected student is awarded a scholarship of up to $2000. This years' awards were presented at a luncheon to three of the five winners. Pictured are, Brenda Skinner (Scholarship Committee Chair), Ryan Jenks from Ocean Twp HS (attending East Carolina University), Judex Beaubrun from Asbury Park HS (attending Rutgers University), Kathlanda Nelson from Asbury Park HS (attending Monmouth University), Gail Matarazzo, Rotary Club of Asbury Park President, and HJ Albrecht, Master of Ceremonies. Winners not attending were Allayah Huntley from Neptune High School and Carolyn Brody from Ocean Township High School.
